Retooling Workshop on Updated PRECUP Forms for the Province of Rizal

Hailed as the “Cradle of Philippine Art”, the Province of Rizal takes pride in its rich history and culture - from their colorful festivals and sumptuous food to historic sites and protected areas found therein - and is fully committed to its preservation. As a testament to its commitment, the province invited the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) Office to facilitate a workshop to further improve and develop the technical knowledge and skillset of the province’s local Tourism Officers and Cultural, Arts, and Heritage Officers on the effective establishment and proper maintenance of their respective local cultural inventories (LCIs). As of 2023, 151 cultural properties in the Province of Rizal have been listed in the TALAPAMANA, the publicly accessible database of the PRECUP. 

Dr. Corazon S. Laserna, the Head of the Culture, Heritage and Arts Section of the Rizal Province Tourism Office formally commences the PRECUP Retooling Workshop by delivering her opening remarks.		The participants, officers and staff of the Province of Rizal’s local Tourism Offices and Culture, Heritage and Arts Offices, are listening intently to the training.

The PRECUP Office and the Cultural Properties Protection and Regulation Division are committed to the conservation and protection of cultural properties in the country. To effectively implement its mandate under R.A. No. 10066, the PRECUP Office continuously partners with various local government units and cultural agencies.  With the extensive training on proper documentation, the Province of Rizal, its cities and municipalities, was able to learn the proper way of documenting cultural properties, determine gaps in its current practices, and was guided on how to register its cultural properties under PRECUP.
